They removed and replaced an existing deck three stories removed from the street, leveled the space, removed concrete, integrated deck design with thought to an underlying drain pump, irrigation, and created a true oasis that seemed impossible for the price.

We recently moved into a new home with a small yard that needed work. Our yard was covered in bark and some odds and ends of plants in some broken pots. I was looking for a landscaper to help us transform our small yard into something we could use and enjoy. I read the other great reviews for Golden & Co Landscapes and decided to give them a call. I received a prompt reply, and Alberto came out to look at our project the following week. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, some Arizona stone pavers in the middle of our yard and some plants around the side. Alberto also came up with some great ideas on improving our space, including plant choices that would thrive in our yard. Golden & Co Landscapes fit our project into their schedule a few weeks later. Our yard is hard to get to, up a few flights of stairs, and they had to go through our home to get to the yard. That said, the team did an excellent job of not disturbing neighbors and cleaning up during and after the project was completed. Alberto and the team delivered outstanding results on time and within our budget. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Golden & Co Landscapes to you for your next project.

Backyard Renovation Cost
What affects the cost of a backyard renovation in San Francisco.
No two yards cost the same. Here are the things that move the price — so you know what goes into an estimate before you get one.
Lot size
Bigger yards need more material and labor. A small 25×50 row-house lot costs less than a double lot — but tight access can add work of its own.
Slope & hillside work
Flat lots are simpler. Sloped lots need retaining walls, drainage, and grading before anything else gets built — and that's a big part of the price on SF hillsides.
Materials
Natural stone and porcelain tile cost more than pavers or concrete. Composite decking costs more than wood, but lasts longer with less upkeep.
Hardscape vs. planting
Patios, decks, and retaining walls cost more per square foot than planting. A yard that's mostly hardscape will cost more than one that's mostly plants.
Access
If the crew has to carry everything through your home or up flights of stairs, that adds labor. Narrow SF lots and hillside access are common here.
Existing conditions
Demolishing an old deck, removing concrete, or fixing drainage before we start all add to the work — and the price.
